progress on t-shirt as of 3-20-05- an Ellen Maurer-Stroh design Posted by Hello

Sunday, March 20, 2005

Well, the weekend's half over, but yesterday was pretty good..I decided not to finish the L*K flip-it this weekend, but work on the t-shirt instead.. it's slow going but I got a bit more done. Maybe after today's work I will post an update and hope my MIL doesn't read my blog so she will be surprised. :-) I was able to relax quite a bit yesterday, but today I need to finish re-arranging our room to fit the cradle. I also need to go to Walmart, which is oh-so-much-fun on a Sunday- any day for that matter as it is pretty much always busy. But they have the cheapest groceries in town.
This morning my feet were actually normal size and my legs pretty much were too- we'll see how long it lasts. LOL Looks like my feet are already pudging up. OH well.. could be worse.
I see they found the body of the little girl that was missing in FL and that guy confessed to killing her.. this outrages me as he had been arrested 24times on various things.. shouldn't he have been in jail to stay by now?? Well enough said on that scary subject..
off to fold some laundry and get ready for church! TTFN!

Found it!

I found my flip-it! It was in the car, wedged between the center console and the passenger side seat belt buckle. I'm so glad! I got a little stitching in on it today at lunch, going to work on it some more tonight. Since I want to work on the t-shirt on the weekends I will probably get the flip-it done sometime next week. I am so relieved cause I had some scissors and several threads in the pouch with it. Phew!
Not sure what plans we have for the weekend, dh may have to work, I'm not sure. Will probably stay around the house for the most part. I need to get our room rearranged for the baby's cradle. Week 36 is about to begin! Wow!!

LOST: one L*K flip-it in progress!

I can't find it anywhere! I'm going to tear apart the downstairs tonight and see if I can't find it. My pattern and thread and everything was in it. :-( I am so frustrated.
On an up note, has anyone tried the new Tropicana Orangeade? It's awesome! I could drink it all day. I love it love it love it. We got a 12 pack this weekend and there are only 2 left.
I worked a little bit on Christ in Gethsemane last night.. maybe I will post a progress pic later. I have also gotten quite a bit done on my Bent Creek ornament, but just found a mistake that is going to require me to tear out quite a bit. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHH It figures, when I am almost done. I was working on the border.
OH well.. better get off here and look for the lost flip it.

Week 35 has begun!

It's hard to believe!! Although looking at my feet, legs, and ankles you could believe it. They are sooooooooo swollen, I have one pair of shoes I can still squeeze into- I may have to invest in some of those indoor/outdoor slippers in a large size, to wear until I go to the hospital! Thankfully at work no one sees my feet much so at least it doesn't matter if my shoes match.
Stitching-wise, I finally started the t-shirt for my mother-in-law! Yippee!! It is going to be my weekend project. Today is ornament day. I really want to finish my Noel ornament and start on another! We'll see how it goes.
Well, off to get ready for work..

TGIS

Thank God it's Saturday!! It's been a busy week. Hopefully I can get some relaxation time in this weekend since dh is working. I have hardly gotten any stitching done this week- just a few stitches on my LK block and a few on Christ in Gethsemane. I've been so tired in the evenings my mind is saying "Stitch" and my body is saying "Just lay there and veg in front of the TV." LOL Maybe I will check in later with some progress on something!

Getting ready

This past weekend was a busy one- we went to Babies R'Us and got our stroller/carseat and swing..ate at this great restaurant called the Twisted Fork in Raleigh. It was delicious and our server was great.
We also went to Target and registered- I wasn't going to register since this is our 2nd child, but a friend of mine said I should go ahead anyway so I did. :-) We registered for a lot of clothes but some other stuff too.
Stitching I haven't been doing so well.. didn't get any done this weekend, or last night. I'm taking some with me to work today so hopefully I will get some done at lunch. I finished Wildcard this weekend and am now reading If Looks Could Kill by Heather Graham. It is so good I read thru my lunch break yesterday and didn't stitch at all! So hopefully I will be able to tear myself away today and get some stitching done. lol

My progress on LK flip it as of 3-4-05 Posted by Hello

OK, this is definitely not the best picture of me. I always blink. But the point is not me, it's the belly, right? lol Posted by Hello

Wow, it's been a week since I posted!

It's been a busy week too- my in-laws were here for a couple of days, it was nice seeing them and they brought me a great x-stitch book! Today should be a fairly relaxing day- have some laundry to do and a little straightening up, but over all the house is pretty clean so maybe I can get some reading and stitching done today. And I don't mind doing laundry so much, when I finish at least I feel like I have done something.
Have a doctor's appt coming up this week, hard to believe I only have about 6 weeks to go, if he comes on time! Part of me can't wait and part of me is so scared. I told a friend of mine the birth of your first child is easier cause you don't know what's gonna happen. lol
Stitching is coming along- didn't get much done the first part of the week cause I was just so tired at night I'd just veg in front of the TV. Have gotten quite a bit more done in the past few days on my L*K flip it, I'll post progress in a minute. Inching along on Christ in Gethsemane too..
Well that's about it here for now.. may pop back in later..we are going to Raleigh tonight to Babies R' Us to get a new stroller. :-)

Saturday, February 26, 2005

Good Saturday!

Well I worked hard today but feel like I actually got something done for once. My friend Emily came over and helped me clean, we got some stuff in Hanna's room ready for the baby, gave some stuff to Goodwill, etc. It feels good!
Got a great package from my stitching buddy yesterday- Little House Needlework's "The Bookshelf", and a "Fat Flakes" leaflet, "Pocket Sampler Boo" by Bent Creek, along with some candles and a holder, some candy, a beautiful scissors fob, some great threads, etc. She spoiled me! "The Bookshelf" is my next project for sure. It has all my favorite authors listed, just about. I need to get started on my MIL's t-shirt first, maybe tonight I can get the waste canvas on there and start stitching tonight or tomorrow. She will be here tomorrow night visiting but she doesn't have to know it's hers. :-) She knows I'm making one but not what it looks like. I have chosen an Ellen Maurer-Stroh free pattern that is just beautiful.
Well, I better get going, going to go grab a bite to eat with some friends soon. TTFN!

Friday, February 25, 2005

Hooray! It's Friday!

I had a doctor's appt. yesterday, all is well.. doc measured me and we listened to the baby's heartbeat. I go back in two weeks. We're down to less than two months! It's hard to believe!
This morning has gone better so far than yesterday- yesterday Hanna threw a crying fit for at least 30 min. because I wouldn't let her wear a skirt to school since it was cold and rainy.. then after she kind of got over that she was sobbing about everything else under the sun. I got in my car to take her to school and realized I had left my window cracked overnight and it had rained, so my seat was wet, and the inside of the door. Got her to school, went to the doctor and my doctor was stuck in surgery, he didn't get back until about an hour after my appointment time. That was ok, I had my book, but it is work time missed. Oh well, the day ended up all right, when I picked Hanna up she was in a great mood, and when I got home found that I have a package waiting for me at the post office from Down Sunshine Lane. It's mainly for my stitching buddy but there is a couple things in there for me. I love stash mail!
Well, I better go get ready for work- hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend!

My progress on Christ in Gethsemane as of 2-22-05 Posted by Hello

Phew!

I thought my blog was gone.. went to the site and only a couple little marks there.. looks like it's back on track.
My cold is a bit better today thank goodness, not as stuffy as yesterday and can taste my food a bit more.
I didn't even have to take any medicine today!
I worked a bit last night on "Christ in Gethsemane." I'll post a pic in a minute. It's coming along slowly but surely. Tonight I think I'll work on my LK flip-it. I can at least finish the chick before I fall asleep I'm sure. LOL

My progress as of 2-21! Didn't get as far as I'd like, had to frog the star as I put it in the wrong place. :-( May work on it today at lunch, this thing is taking me way too long! Posted by Hello

Monday, February 21, 2005

By node id do duffy...

I am fighting a cold!! I have stayed healthy this whole pregnancy and now with two months to go I have a cold. :-P Oh well, could be worse. It's really not that bad except for my nose being stuffy. I hate when I can't taste my food - takes all the fun out of eating.
Otherwise today was an ok day, got an incentive check from one of our companies that I totally forgot about, that was a nice surprise. It will help since I'm getting keyless entry put in my car tomorrow. That will be so nice. Having manual locks wasn't so bad when I had a two door, but with a four door is a real pain, and would be even worse once the baby is born.
I decided today I will keep posting my progress on my WIPs on here, maybe I will get more done if I know someone's watching! LOL

my progress as of 2-18 on April flip it! Posted by Hello

Noel Ornament from JCS Ornament issue 2003 Posted by Hello

Hooray! It's Saturday!

Hoping to get some stitching done today, I am on the 2nd block of the April flip it- have about half of it to go then I can move on to the large one. I also need to pull threads for the t-shirt for my mother-in-law- would like to get that started today and make it my weekend project.
DH bought me an MP3 player, guess he feels bad about that whole Valentine's Day thing. LOL
I have a baby shower to go to tonight, for a friend of mine who's due 4 days before me. Should be fun! DH is staying home with Hanna, which reminds me I need to call and tell them I might be a little late.. have to wait for him to get home before I can leave. It will be nice to have some time away, even if it's just for a little while.
Today I plan to start the process of cleaning/rearranging things for the baby, since it looks like we will still be in this apt. when he is born. I've been keeping an eye out for someplace bigger, but so far the only places in our budget our in not-so-nice neighborhoods. I do believe the Lord will provide in his time, we just have to be patient. Well guess that's it for now, will post my progress on my WIPs now.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hope it was better than mine. No mushy card even. Oh well. The day was ok otherwise, except was hoping for some stuff I ordered in the mail, and it didn't come. Was really thinking it would get here by today. Maybe tomorrow...
Below is a pin I finished Sunday- I actually finished stitching earlier in the week but had to sew it together. The scan turned out kind of blurry for some reason. I like the pin though, I think it's cute. There's a melting snowman one for March. I don't know if they had one for January, I haven't seen one. I'll start on March in a week or so. They don't take long, I think the stitching only took me 2 days on this one, could've finished it in one if I had the time.Well that's about it here.. will post more when I am a little more cheerful. lol

Cross Stitchery Feb. pin - finished just in time for Valentine's Day! Posted by Hello

Been busy

I am training someone at work this week, and probably for the next several.. she will work with us before, during, and after my maternity leave.. I'm looking forward to it. It will be nice to have someone to keep me company sometimes. She's catching on really quick too.
Anyway.. started stitching the L*K April flip-it, worked on Christ in Gethsemane a bit last night, I'm going to try to start working on it every Tuesday again.
Oh well .. going to go to bed.. I'm worn out.

Monday, February 07, 2005

Happy Monday!

Or at least I hope it will be!! I got some things done this weekend, no laundry left except maybe one load.. have to change the sheets on our beds..
We watched some more movies this weekend- "Sleepover" which was really cute, "Shall We Dance"- enjoyed that one too, and "The Grudge", which was scary and suspenseful but the ending really stunk. I wanted to rent "Vanity Fair" but they were all out.
As you can see I finished some stitching this weekend, got my Cross Stitchery pin kit done too, but I need to iron it and sew it together.. will hopefully get that done tonight.
I did a little online shopping at Super Bowl sales, everything I got was for my Stitching Buddy tho. That's ok, I feel guilty buying anything for myself these days, unless it's supplies to get a project done!
Well, off to get ready for work! Hope everyone has a good week!

Dad got his tractor

and he likes it alot! I am so glad. He said he is going to make a frame for it and hang it next to his John Deere calendar.
I'm almost finished with my L*K flip-it, just have to finish the border and add the charm, then it's on to the April flip it! I hope to finish it today. I wanted to finish it last night but fell asleep again. It is so frustrating! Hopefully today I can my housework out of the way and stitch this afternoon. I say that every Saturday- maybe this Saturday I can make it happen. But I guess to do that I need to get off this computer. TTFN!

February already!

I can hardly believe it.. January is already over. I ended the month with a new finish but can't post it til it reaches it's recipient. It's for my dad for this past Christmas. OOPS.
Our weekend was ok, watched some more movies- "The Day After Tomorrow" and "Cinderella Story," both of which were really good! "Cinderella Story" had som really funny parts.
Sunday we went to Raleigh and took some friends with us. We went to Babies R' Us and ordered our crib and got a cute little summer outfit for the baby, then went to Olive Garden for lunch. YUMMMM Then we walked around the mall for a bit, I got some flannel pjs on sale at Victoria's Secret. They are so cozy!
Well time to get off the computer and get ready for work...

Saturday, January 29, 2005

another Saturday...

Stayed at home for the most part and it was nice.. got some things done around the house, not much stitching yet. I did watch "Raising Helen" which I thought was such a sweet movie!! A tearjerker in parts.
But despite the not-so-good reviews I read about it, I thought it was really good.
Not sure what we're going to watch tonight, either "Cinderella Story" or "The Day After Tomorrow."
Oh well.. off to work on Dad's Christmas gift and eat some cherry pie.

getting on my soapbox..

Wow. today at work my boss was listening to Rush Limbaugh and Rush was playing sound bites from Katie Couric's special on teens and sex. What a bunch of dingbats I did hear. These girls were saying they or they're "friends" give guys oral sex as an excuse not to have actual intercourse. HELLO. If a guy is going to dump you because you won't give him any he IS NOT WORTH IT. DUH. I speak from experience, because even though I may be telling too much about myself. I did not have sex in high school. And it was not because I didn't date any guys who didn't want it from me. I told them up front I wouldn't and if they didn't like it they could go. No hard feelings. I am saddened to hear that the self-esteem of girls is so low today that they feel they have to put out to keep a boyfriend. I hope I can raise Hanna, and our soon-to-be born son for that matter, better than that. What I heard to day made me sad and also scared me a bit. Someone needs to knock some sense into those girls. OK I will get down of my soapbox now. Just had to vent.
The day was fairly uneventful.. still doing some catching up at work but am making progress. Didn't get any stitching done today so far. At lunch I had an Avon order to deliver and took the stuffed animals to the hospital for the kids that visit. Also made a trip to the bank. Came home, made dinner, and get this - dh actually complimented my cooking!!! I know that sounds so silly but he is the better cook of the two of us by far, and he never insults my cooking but I know it's not the greatest. And tonight he told me more than once that it was really good. From him that is a big compliment cause he knows his way around a kitchen.
Well I better get off of here. Laundry and stitching calls!

LK flip it as of 1-26-05 Posted by Hello

Like the new look?

After I edited a post tonight my sidebar disappeared on my old pink template, and no matter what I did it wouldn't come back..so I changed my template and found that the blogger preview isn't working right, at least not for me, so everytime I made a change I had to republish my blog to make sure it was in the right place.
ARRRGH. It's been one of those days.

Halfway to Friday-

Today was ok but seemed to go on forever. I was so tired today. I watched "Walking Tall" with the Rock last night which was actually pretty good! Cool that the guy became sherriff so he could kick anyone's but he wanted. LOL I want to look up the real guy on the internet, I keep forgetting to.
Got a little more done on Dad's Christmas gift, I'm still shooting to have it done by the end of the month! We are going to Raleigh on Sunday I think so hopefully I'll get some stitching done in the car. I worked on my L*K flip it at lunch today- got a 2nd block almost done and then I'll just have the "luck" block. :-) Maybe I will post a pic later.

How much do you believe on the internet??

Monday

Looks like unkymoods is gone again. Wah. :-(

This past weekend was a movie weekend, we got coupons from Hollywood Video just in time for the weekend. Great timing. :-) So far I've watched "Without a Paddle" , which was better than I thought it would be, "The Forgotten" which was very good, and "Laws of Attraction" which was so cute! Tonight I am going to watch "The Stepford Wives." CSI:Miami is a rerun so that works out good.
I finally got the movie I won on ebay, they had told me it was mailed on the 4th and the postage label said Jan. 20, so I have emailed them and asked them about it, we'll see what they say. At least the movie was new like they said, still wrapped with the security stickers on it and everything.
I found a good home for Hanna's and my stuffed animals, the hospital will take them. They can't take anything but new ones for the children's ward but they do keep gently used ones to give to kids who might be visiting someone at the hospital and are upset, or something like that. That's cool. :-) I'm glad they will cheer someone up!
Not much else going on, I am hoping to have my Dad's Christmas present finished by the end of the week, I got quite a bit done on it at lunch today. I am going to work on either my L*K flip it or my ornament tonight.. not sure which, we'll see where my mood takes me when I get ready to stitch. :-)

Something to think about

Hanna at Christmas this past year! Posted by Hello

Ugh I am so stuffed!

Went out for sushi tonight and tried some new things.. they were good but I am sooooooooooooo full. I did get some things done today tho, went thru Hanna's stuffed animals(and mine) to get rid of some, got the box down so Rob can put the Christmas tree away(finally!), put some stash away, got my camera set up to work with the new computer.. so at least I got some things done I've been meaning to do! now to go work on the pic for my dad.. I really would like to get it mostly done this weekend.

No snow

I knew we wouldn't get any.. sigh.... and I was hoping for a snow day. All we got was rain.
Got a little stitching done last night on my Bent Creek "Noel" ornament, but not much, got to watching "Hush" and it'd been so long since I'd seen it I was on the edge of my seat. LOL Didn't help that the main character is pregnant. hee
Well better get off to work, got to go get ready!

Thursday, January 20, 2005

feeling a little better..

Work was ok, actually feel like I accomplished something today so that's good. And I got some stash in the mail when I got home, my order from DSL was here. :-) So tonight I get to put my new threads away. I love doing that! LOL I am very aggravated a movie I won on ebay was not in the mail. It will be 3 weeks since they sent it tomorrow. As far as I know they are in the US so it shouldn't take this long, especially after the holiday mail rush is over. They said they mailed it on the 4th. You can bet I'm checking the postmark date. It wouldn't burn me so bad but the shipping was kind of high, esp. when they could send it media rate. Grrrrrrr

Worn out

Maybe it's the weather, I don't know, but I feel like crawling back into bed and going back to sleep. I just feel drained. I need a day off and all to myself. Unfortunately my boss has a dentist appt. today so I have to be at work. I'm just pooped. Lately I feel like I am just running around in circles. Last night by the time I got Hanna to bed and sat down to stitch I stitched a couple of rows and started dozing off- it's so frustrating that lately the one thing I love to do I am too tired to do, and there are so many things I want to stitch!
On the up side, I got my books from my Harlequin suspense book club yesterday, two by Heather Graham and one by Rachel Lee. I have never read either author so I am looking forward to reading them once I finish the one I am reading now.
Oh well, better go get ready for work.

Sunday, January 16, 2005

Busy yesterday

I got some cleaning done and started cleaning out Hanna's old baby things.. won't need most of them with a baby boy coming! I am giving all the girl stuff to a friend of mine who is due right before me.. then if we have a girl instead of the boy we're think we're having she said she will give it back. LOL
Watched "Double Jeopardy" yesterday- I love that movie. I found the DVD for 5.99 at Best Buy after Christmas! I was so excited.
Not much planned for today, have got church then have to go to Walmart. :-P Then hopefully I can finish cleaning out the baby stuff. And hopefully I will get some stitching time in.. didn't get much yesterday!

Lesson of the day..

Wear a coat when it's raining even if it's warm outside. I speak from experience. This morning I was running late to get Hanna to school, so I walked her to the school gate w/my umbrella(she had a raincoat on) and was going to wait there and watch her til she got to her classroom(the door is outside.) Well the wind was blowing and it was pouring rain, so I thought I would walk to the car and watch her from in the car. Mind you I did NOT wear a jacket. So I am walking and a huge gust of wind blows my cheap umbrella inside out, I can't get it back down and I got soaking wet. I had to go home and change before work I was so wet. I think I will also invest in a better umbrella. :-P
Other than that today was ok..a lady visited us at work today that might be working with us part-time. I hope so as it will alleviate some of my worries for while I am out on maternity leave. She seems really nice.
I had been craving sushi again so I got some sushi take out for lunch, it was delish.. but next time I will ask for light ice in my drink, they filled it full of ice and there was hardly any Coke in there!! I hate that.
Dh has to work this weekend, I have plans to get things done around the house but we'll see how that goes. I need to go thru Hanna's old things still to see what I can keep for the baby and what I need to get rid of. We need all the room we can get. Well I am going to go stitch now, haven't gotten hardly any stitching in all day!

A 2-day finish! A dear friend, Petra, designed this one.. I used Charizma fabric by Silkweavers and mostly Six Strand Sweets for the colors, except the grey which is DMC. I shouldn't be posting this cause I am going to give it to someone, but oh well, maybe she won't read this. LOL Posted by Hello

blah.....

What's up with Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston breaking up? It is so sad. Usually I don't care about celeb couples but I really liked them together. :-( I hope they work things out.
Speaking of Mr. P, watched "Troy" the other night.. what a hottie. I think he should keep his hair long all the time. Orlando Bloom and Eric Bana weren't hard to look at either! I did keep falling asleep tho, I was so tired. The battel scenes kind of bored me unless it was two people one on one. I don't know why cause the battle scenes in LOTR didn't bore me. Maybe cause I was more emotionally attached to the characters.
Kind of a blah night tonight, dh stayed home and took a vacation day, I was looking forward to a night of family fun like playing the Scooby game or something but he's watching an old movie on TV, Hanna is upstairs watching TV in our room, and I just finished a ton of dishes and I guess will stitch when I am done on the computer. So much for quality family time. My feet and legs hurt so I think the dishes are the only housework I'm doing tonight. My ankles are getting swollen. :-(
I had all these things I was going to blog about once I got on here that I thought of at work, now that I'm home I can't think of anything!
We are getting an Asian bistro down the street from my job, I'm curious to see what it's going to be like. I hope it's good, I could use a good Asian place closeby. Unfortunately they took away a really good cheesesteak place to put it in. Fortunately there are several other locations of that cheesesteak chain in town. :-) But that one was in walking distance from work which was nice.
I am finally making progress on my dad's very late Christmas gift, got some done at lunch today. I think I am going to work on my flip-it tonight.
Well that's about it here.. sorry so depressing! Must be having a mood swing. TTFN!

Sunday, January 09, 2005

a somewhat lazy Saturday yesterday..

I did get some laundry done(which reminds me I need to put a load in the dryer), Hanna and I went for a walk since it was so nice outside. Actually she rode her bike and I walked. Went to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner, was pretty good, we hadn't been there for a while. Then we watched "Little Black Book", which was good, a lot of funny parts, but not the ending I expected. I was a little disappointed but I guess their ending was more realistic than the usual. I think we are watching "Troy" tonight. I can handle a couple of hours of Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom. :-) I have to go after church today to pick up some floss bags and groceries at Walmart. Otherwise not many plans for today. Hopefully I can finish the laundry and start going thru Hanna's closet, which I never did yesterday. I also have to get the box for the Christmas tree out so dh can put it away.. and such is my exciting life... lol

Happy Epiphany!

Went to church tonight for Epiphany, what I heard of it was good but Hanna wouldn't be quiet. It was very frustrating. Then I got home to find the dog had gone thru every trash can he could get to, why I don't know because there wasn't any "food trash" in any of them. Then he had the nerve to snarl at me when I reprimanded him. If we had a doghouse he would be in it.
On the good side, had some time to kill after dinner and before church, so Hanna and I went to Michael's, I thought I'd see what was left of the Christmas clearance. Not much. But I was excited because I needed a new craft light and they had them on clearance for half off!! Yippee cause I still have batteries and bulbs from my old one that shorted out. This one I will keep the warranty info and receipt, if there is a warranty. Otherwise nothing new here.. work was somewhat slower so I got a little more done today, which was nice. Tomorrow will probably be busy since it's Friday, but it least it will be Friday!!! Dh has to work all weekend so I am hopefully going to go thru some of Hanna's old baby stuff and see what I can keep for her little brother and what I can get rid of. I will keep a few girl things just in case. :-)

Wednesday, January 05, 2005

Oh no...

I found something else to take me away from my stitching, and his name is Scooby. LOL We got Hanna a Scooby-Doo game for her gamecube the other day and boy is that game addicting. It's one of those games where you have to save people and collect things and fight monsters, etc. I love those kind of games.
Not much else going on here, I have a prenatal appt. today. Hopefully all is well! I feel him kicking around so that's a good sign.
Well I better go get dressed, don't want to be late!

Haven't been on for a while.. thought I'd update. Friday dh worked an early shift so he was home in the evening, we went grocery shopping and Hanna and I went to church. I was so sleepy I didn't even make it til midnight once I got home. Dh played "james bond" on the game cube til 2:30 am, I doubt even realized when it was midnight, LOL.
Yesterday we went to Raleigh and I was hoping to go to the LNS there but they were closed for the holiday. :-( I was so disappointed as I have a gift certificate for the shop that's burning a hole in my pocket! On the up side we did some other shopping, I got my LOTR desk calendar at half price, got a couple of DVDs really cheap- Little Women(1994) and Double Jepoardy which I have been keeping an eye out for. Finally found it at Best Buy for $5.99! Can't beat that.
As far as stitching, have been plugging away at my dad's very late Christmas gift, I'm finally making some progress! Since I finished the baby gift I was working on I feel more motivated on this one, I guess cause it's not like anything I've ever done before. I have also started the Lizzie Kate flip-it blocks for March of last year, I want to catch up and finish all my L*K flip-its for last year. I need my dad to make me a frame so I can display them on my desk at work. I have a frame here that might work, I just have to check.
Well that's about it here right now, church service time has switched to 11:15 which I was so thankful for, but what difference does it make when Hanna wakes me up between 7 and 7:30 anyway? OH well....

Back to work

Going back to work after a long weekend is so hard..especially when you have to drive on snow and ice to get there. It could've been worse I suppose, except I drove Hanna all the way to her daycare, then they told me they were closing after all because their parking lot was like a sheet of ice, and wasn't melting even tho they salted, and only two teachers had shown up. So I had to drive her back home to dh, and drive to work, which thankfully is only up the road from my house a mile or two.
I am almost finished with the baby gift, only have to graph and stitch the baby's name and other info then I'll be done! Then I need to send the dimensions to Dad so he can make me a frame. :-) And then it's on to his Christmas gift, which I will have done before Easter if I'm lucky. LOL

It's snowing!!!!!

I am so excited! It's a day after Christmas but so what? It's beautiful outside. I let the dog out this morning and screamed with delight- hee hee! Snow covers the ground and it is still coming down. I love it! Dh is less than excited, he doesn't like snow. but I think it's lovely. Great day for cocoa and stitching, especially since, as usual, the city does not appear to be on top of things and our street out front is covered with snow and ice. I'm not wanting to test my new car in this just yet, especially being pregnant and all. Maybe I can finally get that baby gift done today!!

Merry Christmas!!

It's been a nice day so far, Hanna got us up around 7:30, surprised it wasn't earlier! And we opened gifts.. I got alot of great things- a lot of snowpeople for my collection, a small jewelry armoire, a fleece throw, 2 Lenny Kravitz CDs and U2's new CD, some gift cards, a CD case for my car, a new purse, a necklace with a stone that looks like jade, etc.. and some gifts haven't arrived yet since UPS is held up by weather so there will be more, hopefully next week! Rob is cooking a ham later, and green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, etc and I will make a cranberry salad. Right now he and Hanna are playing on her new gamecube. I'm glad they have something they can enjoy together! I just finished baking some oatmeal raisin cookies and white chip macadamia nut cookies. :-9 Hope it will be a nice relaxing day and I can get some stitching done without falling asleep! LOL
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a blessed new year!

waiting impatiently

for Christmas Day! I am just like a kid. I see all the presents under the tree and can't wait to open them!! I got dh one last gift today, since he knew what his other ones were, I wanted one to be a surprise.. and actually his gift from Hanna will be a surprise too.

I just finished Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella last night. What a cute book! I loved it. I want to read the sequel now. When I take Hanna to the library again I will have to see if they have it. I think it would make a cute movie.

It is sooooooooo nice to have the day off today! Usually my office isn't closed on Christmas Eve, but since Christmas Day falls on a weekend we are closed today. I'm so glad. I have a little cleaning to do then hopefully can relax and stitch. We have church tonight at 6:30- dh is so sweet, yesterday he bought me a Christmas outfit to wear to church, since I don't have many maternity dresses and they are mostly for spring. I still can't figure that one out since Hanna was born in November. Go figure.

I can't seem to get done with Christmas stuff.. here I have all my cards done, gifts wrapped, and then I need to do the Christmas cards for work. Oh well,I guess I shouldn't complain, my boss and his wife did the bulk of them. And I managed to get the ones done I needed to do during Hanna's Christmas program practice, so at least I didn't have to take them home. Just left them in the car for tomorrow.
I am getting really frustrated stitching these same projects all the time.. I want to start something new, but my stitching consience is telling me no!! And I can't let these two things become UFO's since they are gifts for people. I just need to keep plugging away.. hopefully since this is a long weekend I will get some serious stitching done.. these days I just get so sleepy when I sit still for awhile. It's really quite irritating.

Really Done! LOL

Shopping for Hanna is also done, gifts are wrapped! I am so glad it's done!! Dh and I went to Target last night, one of us would walk around w/Hanna and the other would get her stuff, then we would alternate so we could both pick stuff out. She had no clue what we were doing! :-) Then I went and paid for it and put it in the trunk. Mission accomplished! Now hopefully I can relax until Christmas! :-D

Done!

Got the rest of the packages in the mail today, Christmas cards too!Hooray! Also got a great mystery bag of stitching stuff I ordered from Down Sunshine Lane- if you haven't ordered one yet go get one before they're gone! They're a great deal! If I had the money I would order another one. Just go to www.downsunshinelane.com .

I'm taking a break from cleaning, but Hanna wants to get on here and play for a bit so I will probably get back to cleaning soon. I want to get it done so I can nap and/or stitch. I was up til 2 am getting presents ready to mail and watching "What Not To Wear." I love that show! Dh taped a couple of them so we watched them when he got home from work. I'm surprised I'm not more tired than I am. It will hit me sooner or later.

Well I better go for now..want to finish the housework :-P So I can stitch.

busy busy..

Trying to get these Christmas cards done, then to the post office, to mail the rest of the gifts..
Will probably stay around the house most of the day today- it's a mess and I need to clean. Plus I stayed up too late last night so I will probably need a nap later. I did tell Hanna we'd go to the library but maybe we will wait til tomorrow, I don't know yet. I think we're going out for sushi tonight. YUMMMMMM

testing

Just checking this out.. never posted to my blog this way.. lol I am so clueless sometimes.
Got a big box of goodies from P today- can't wait to try some but I am so full right now.. got some Christmas cards too and a picture of my cousin's baby. What a cutie! Also got an email from a friend I had sent a card to, hadn't heard from her in ages, so long that she has since had a baby and I never even knew she was pregnant again. I am so glad we're back in touch. She used to live here and I miss her!
Got to wrap MORE gifts tonight.. and get the rest boxed up and ready to mail.. I will be so glad when it's done. Then all I have left is to get Hanna some things for her stocking and I'll be finished. Hooray!

Good morning..

Almost ready for Christmas finally! I got almost all the gifts wrapped last night, got the ones boxed that need to be mailed.. just need one more box. And I finally finished the ornament below. I was getting lazy about it cause I had to do all those little stars all spread out. LOL Now I will pull stuff for another one, hopefully can get one more done, then I need to start sewing them up!

I know you're wondering why I'm confused..

Went online earlier to look at my blog, and it was gone! Just a blank page. Thank goodness blogspot keeps my posts in their memory. LOL I don't know what happened, most of my template info was gone. So I changed to this new one(top looks like stitching kind of! :-) ) and most everything came back, thank goodness I remembered how to add the other stuff.
Another good stash day, got a prize from Amy in my Yahoo group for winning a game, a cute snowman ornament, some stitching needles, and a Mill Hill Snow Charmers kit. :-) I also got a notice from UPS that there is a package from a dear friend at my apartment office waiting for me!! I hope there is someone there before 9 am tomorrow so I can pick it up! I can hardly wait to see what it is!
Tonight since my usual shows are re-runs, gonna pop in a Christmas movie (probably White Christmas) and finish wrapping some gifts and get some ready to mail.
Well better get Hanna to bed so I can have some time to get everything done and still get some stitching in, also need to wrap her Christmas gifts!! 'night!

Good day!

Today was a pretty good day- work was somewhat busy so that's good.. and my co-worker and I exchanged gifts today because she won't be in again before Christmas.. she got me a cute maternity shirt and a gift certificate to Lazy Daizy, one of my favorite LNSs!! I'm so excited, especially because dh said he wouldn't give me one. He said I have enough stitching stuff. Enough stash? Never!! I got some Christmas money from my grandparents yesterday and spent it on stash, ordered a mystery bag today from Down Sunshine Lane. I can't wait to get it! I love grab bag type things. I remember when I was younger, there was this cool clothing store at the mall by my grandma's house and they always had grab bags. I loved getting them when I'd go to visit her.
It was also a good day because I didn't have any errands to run after work! It seems like I am running around all night lately. Glad to just come home and get some things done.
Now I just finished a frosted gingerbread man :-9 and am off to do some Avon orders..

My Christmas tree is up...

and I have determined one thing. I have too many neat ornaments and not enough room on the front and sides of my tree. My tree has to be in a corner and are there are very few that I want to hide back there! :-(Oh well, Hanna and I managed and I think it looks pretty darn good. I'm glad to have it up. I wanted to have it up last weekend but didn't have time. When I first got it out it wouldn't light(it's fiber-optic) and I was so scared I broke it, cause since I'm pregnant I had to slide it down the stairs in it's box and it got away from me and landed with a thud. Phew. I am so glad it's alright!!
Now I need to decide.. clean, work on Christmas cards or stitching?? I finished The Baby Farm and it was excellent. Kind of left you hanging on one thing but it wasn't a major thing. Maybe I will look up the author and email her and ask her what happened. LOL

It's Friday!

I am so glad. The past three days at work were sloooooow - I had things to work on but still it went so slow. Had some good things happen tho, one of our companies sent me a bunch of Walmart gift cards for an incentive they were doing, and got some $$ from another one. Can always use that, especially this time of year!
I am hoping to get alot done this weekend, need to clean up the living room, move my stitching supplies so we can move the couch over to fit the tree in the corner. LOL I hope it will fit. I also need to start on my Christmas cards and work on some gifts..and I'm sure dh will want to do some Xmas shopping. We really need to anyway.
I had planned on getting alot done on the Christmas gift I'm working on, during my lunch breaks. Problem was I was reading The Baby Farm by Karen Harper while I ate and then I didn't want to stop reading to stitch. It is excellent. I'm almost finished with it. If you like romantic suspense I highly recommend it. Maybe I will get some stitching done tonight, after I fold some laundry. :-P Good thing is most of the laundry is washed, it just needs to be folded.. so hopefully I won't be washing clothes all weekend!
Well that's it here.. will be back later, or tomorrow...

Hanna at Colonial Williamsburg :-) Posted by Hello

freebie by Cricket Collection!  Posted by Hello
Well I finally feel like I have accomplished something- first my "Santa Corn" that I finished over the weekend- will post a pic in a minute, got some things caught up at work and am finally accomplishing some things at home. I am hoping to work on the baby gift tonight too. I also need to try to pin my own pants so I can have them altered, since dh isn't home. Should be interesting. LOL He said he's too nervous he will mess them up anyway. Give me a break- I'm not asking him to hem them, just pin them! Sheesh. Oh well, off to try to do more things and watch "Law & Order SVU."

Oh I am so gullible..

Went to my somewhat LNS today.. as I was looking she kept showing me things that were on sale..I got two Mill Hill Kits, 3 packages of Zweigart fabric, a Brightneedle "Merry Christmas" chart, Prairie Schooler #89 "Village Green", and the new Stoney Creek "Snow Friends by Penny Lane" book. The last I got for 2.95, cause she'll give you $5 off an item if you spend $25. Oh well, I don't splurge that often, and she gave Hanna a free kids kit. :-)
Not much else going on here today, mailed some packages to my mom, took Hanna to McDonald's for lunch and got ice cream at Sonic later. I may take her to the library this afternoon since we haven't gone in a while. Dh has to work this afternoon til midnight so it's been a "girl's day." Wouldn't be surprised if he tries to take the new car to work tho and then I'll be stranded. I'll use the library as an excuse. LOL

I'm finally back!

I got back from Williamsburg on Friday, but have been busy ever since. My in-laws stayed with us a few days after we got back from our trip. We had a nice visit. Williamsburg was so much fun, I had never been there before and want to go back and see the things I didn't get to see. We had a great time.
And on Tuesday I got a "new" (to me) car!! Found a great deal in the paper on a 2001 Chevy Cavalier. It's like new and pretty decent mileage, and has more room than my old Escort. I love it. DH has already found someone to buy the Escort, at a rock bottom price, but it will need some work so I don't mind selling it cheap. I'll just be glad to have the money in hand! We definitely need it.
On the baby front, nothing new, he is kicking me daily. :-) I have an appointment on the 6th, not sure what they will do at this one. Hanna hung out with her 3 year old cousin Dylan on vacation, and I think now having a little brother doesn't seem so bad. They really had a good time. For the first part of our trip home I kept hearing "I miss Dylan." He is a trip and what a cutie.
I'm tired. Got to get off this thing and get Hanna to bed so I can go to bed. LOL
