D is finished, a giveaway, and more..

I finally finished D in the Stitcher's Alphabet! Here she is..
I've got my threads pulled for "E"- I think it's going to be really pretty!  I have also been working alot this weekend on this little Mother's Day gift for one of my grandmas- she doesn't have a computer so I think it's safe to post- it's not finished yet, there are flowers along the bottom too.

It's a freebie from cross-stitching.com, though I looked recently and didn't see it on there anymore. I printed it in 2002 I think- that's what was on the paper anyway. I am hoping to finish it up soon so I can stitch something for my other grandma too, before Mother's Day.
I found out today my dad had given me a gift without even knowing it- he recently gave Hanna his old laptop.. he had cleared most everything on it but left all his photos- so I have tons of pics of my kids- some I had never even seen before. And my favorite- this one of my parents and I-

And one of my brother and I- Hanna thought I was a boy. Thanks hon.  I would be the older one in the picture.

And here are a couple of my kids I didn't know existed!

You would think since I was in the picture I would know that it existed- but I guess I forgot. I had never seen it before. And another-

I may have seen this one and just forgot..
and now some more pictures from New Bern- I bet you think they are never going to end don't you? lol

One of the homes nearby-

we thought that white house was neat.

And this is New Bern's LNS - Weaver's Webb.
Oh, and I almost forgot my giveaway! Will be drawing for this one Thursday evening-

Just leave a comment on this post to enter! There are other holiday designs in this book besides the ones pictured.. there are some on the back cover also.  Good luck!

I haven't forgotten you...

There I was posting almost daily and then I just stopped-sorry about that! No significant progress to post on anything yet- I am making some on "D" of the Stitcher's Alphabet but I will wait til the weekend to post that- hopefully I will have it finished by then! Worked a little on "Little Christmas" on Monday- no stitching Tuesday- for some reason I was so tired that day. I was in bed by 9:30!  Hope to work on my S&S Sampler tonight.
My palace garden/New Bern pics aren't finished yet- here are some more for you-
This is part of a garden adjacent to the cafe we ate at, just off the palace grounds. It was in a house and the food was delicious!

The entrance to the cafe was on the back porch-this is one of the flower arrangements they had on the way.

Can't remember where this was- I think near the cafe' also.
Well, that's all for now- have to get the kids to school! Will post sooner next time!

Winner of the LK flip-it, pretty feet, and garden pics of course!

First, let me apologize again, I am a day late announcing the giveaway winner! Time just gets away from me sometimes..the winner is... Margaret!   Please email me with your address and I'll get it in the mail asap.  Email link is in my profile.

Last night dh treated me to a mani-pedi at a spa here in town- I guess technically it's not a spa- they just do nails and eyebrows, that type of thing, but they call it a spa so I will too. lol  I was so glad cause I have really been thinking my nails look atrocious lately! And it's sandal season!
Guess I need some self-tanner now huh? lol
No stitching last night, after dinner and the spa it was already pretty late- but here are some more pics of our trip to New Bern-

This is the blacksmith shop on the palace grounds- there was a blacksmith inside making things- David was fascinated!

This was a private home and garden next to the palace grounds- they had their back gate open, so you could see their beautiful yard.  It was right next to the blacksmith shop!

This is a cute fire hydrant near one of the visitor parking lots.

Well, that's about it for now- I have to go get ready for zumba class! Stay tuned for more giveaways-I have a pile of stuff here to get rid of!

Progress on Little Christmas and more palace garden pics-

Happy Monday everyone! Actually mine wasn't that happy as my parents had to head home.. :( I miss them already! But at least I had work and zumba to distract me.
Here is my progress on "Little Christmas" as of today.
And now for more garden pics- I hope I can remember which ones I have already posted without having to look back. hee hee..  This was one of the side gardens- I wish I would have gotten a picture of the whole thing- will have to see if Mom did.

Well, that's it for today, I have stayed up too late again! ;)

Getting there slowly but surely!  I will take a picture of Sense and Sensibility soon.

Just a few snaps from today-

Today my family and I went to Tryon Palace in New Bern, NC.  They were having a special gardening weekend, where they sold plants from the palace gardens (I think that's where they were from)  and had some beautiful floral displays in the gardens.  I took a TON of pictures, so rather than have one huge post, I will add them to posts over a series of days, along with stitching snaps when I have them.. here are a few to start-
The palace itself-when I was out here I kept remembering Mrs Elton's quote from Emma about "extensive grounds." lol

I wish you could smell these wisteria- they were hanging all over the side of the visitor/information ce
nter for the palace.  You could simply stand in front of the wall and smell them- heavenly!
Some white wisteria..
